

Jake Wilkes devotes his practice to helping individuals harmed by the negligence of others, in addition to assisting businesses and individuals in complex legal matters. Mr. Wilkes has assisted in catastrophic cases against hospitals, medical groups, and insurance companies.
Mr. Wilkes is a native of middle Georgia. Mr. Wilkes’ father and younger brother operate a septic tank manufacturing and installation company in middle Georgia, while his mother provides healthcare to veterans at a local Veterans Affairs facility. During his breaks in high school and undergraduate, Mr. Wilkes regularly assisted his father’s small business. Mr. Wilkes fondly remembers receiving his acceptance into Mercer Law School and notice of scholarship while laying drain lines in the summer of 2019. In addition to assisting the family business, Mr. Wilkes served as a bagger for a grocery store and served as a caddie at Reynolds Lake Oconee while pursuing his undergraduate degree. This broad experience allows Mr. Wilkes to relate to a variety of people, regardless of their background or station in life. Simultaneously, he demonstrates an ability to tackle the most complex legal issues, easily cooperating with members of the bench and bar.
Mr. Wilkes obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 2022. While in law school, Mr. Wilkes was awarded a spot on the President’s List in Fall 2019, Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Fall 2021. In addition, he earned the Cali Award (highest grade in the class) for both the courses of Evidence and Secured Transactions. Mr. Wilkes was a member of both the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society and the Real Estate Law Society during his time at the Walter F. George School of Law.
Mr. Wilkes has prior experience interning for the Kight Firm, P.C. in his hometown of Dublin. At the Kight Firm, he assisted in commercial real estate closings and civil asset forfeiture cases.
In 2022, Mr. Wilkes joined Mayo Hill in Macon, Georgia. He expanded his practice to include criminal defense and assisting individuals and families suffering from the results of another’s negligence or medical malpractice.
In his spare time, Mr. Wilkes enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golfing, weightlifting, hunting, fishing, boating, traveling, and college football.
